So, this is what came out of the envelope the other weekend.
We're having a baby girl. I am so so stoked.
But... to tell the truth I'm also a little nervous.
Now don't get me wrong. I do like the colour pink. (I'm writing my blog in pink for today after all) I can even remember a time in high school when I owned at least ten pink tops. It was teh colour. It looks very sweet in many occasions most notably marshmallows, babies bottom cheeks, sunsets and the eyes of albino rabbits.
But..
On my sweet little baby girl EVERY day?
Perhaps not?
I was at a baby shower recently and a LOT of the gifts were pink. It made me realise that this could be the future for us. Pink onsies, pink booties and socks with a pink jacket and beanie with pink bobbles. A pink pram perhaps? And a pink sling. Heck Myles has a pink shirt he could join in on the fun.
It was all a little too much pink.
Now I don't want to come across all anti-gender or anything. My girl will definitely look like a girl but maybe more in the roughntumble brownie guide/Anne of Green Gables/Narnia/Kick-bot chick from Middle Earth/Amelia Earehart kinda way.
I guess she will be what she will be but I'm sure she can do it in whatever colour she wants... even if that turns out to be pink.

I am wearing pink today...
Congrats :)
If I were having a little girl she'd be wearing more green than anything else. Pink is cute, but I agree some people go overboard!
Haha!
I feel the same way about the color blue for boys... there are SO MANY BLUE CLOTHES! But, Elliot has a nice variety of colors in his closet. You just have to know where to look :)
I am your newest follower! I look forward to reading your posts. Also, I love your name! Very cute.
I had the same feelings when we found out we were having a girl! After going to a few stores everything was pink! I've since been able to find a lot of options through thrift stores and online shopping.
i love the idea of dressing like Anne of Green Gables!
